The Mortuary Assistant

You play as Rebeccca Owens, recent graduate with a B.S. in Mortuary Sciences, embarking on an apprenticeship at River Fields Mortuary, late one night you are called into work to handle some embalmings. There is something different about these bodies because there is something different about you. The rumors are true so will you survive or do you end up getting possessed?

With this Multi-ending horror game : you get 5 endings, a lot of back story as you progress through the different endings, and jump scares a plenty. The developer DarkStone Digital is fairly new to the field of horror games but knows their audience extremely well. The artistry of the game is just crazy, ie. when you roll a body down the hall on a gurney you can see little things like the feet or stomach jiggle. There are so many tiny little details that this game touches base on that multiple play throughs are suggested because you could blink and easily miss them.

Just a warning, the game play is not for those weak in the stomach. While it’s not gory per say, it’s not what most are used to in a horror game either. This is a job simulator (as a mortician) where you deal with a very realistic demon possession. I have seen a lot of people have many issues playing this game, including myself, as it is easy to get queasy at times. While I love this game for so many of these aspects, those same aspects make it hard to play too.
